AGUARDIENTE ANTIOQUENO

Antioqueno Aguardiente is the best-selling Colombian aguardiente in the world. The delicious taste of this dry spirit, which is Colombia's national alcoholic beverage, results from a blend of molasses, virgin honey and sugar, with the addition of the traditional anise flavor. Not surprisingly, in Spanish, the name of this spirit means "firewater."  Mix the spirit with orange juice, lime juice and egg whites, and you'll get a traditional Aguardiente Sour. Alternatively, you can add the Colombian liquor to your Mojito instead of rum.
